 I set
 GST_PLUGIN_PATH=/usr/local/lib/gstreamer-0.10

 Still I am getting the same error.

 I had to install gstreamer-0.10 and farsight2-0.0 for pidgin-vv
 dependencies.

 both are in /usr/local/lib.

 Now that you've mentioned it,
 GST_PLUGIN_PATH=/usr/local/lib/gstreamer-0.10 would tell pidgin the
 location of gstreamer. What about /usr/local/lib/farsight2-0.0. Dont I
 need to set
 another environment variable for this?
