#8621: Can't copy text in coversation window, on Windows XP SP3 French

 If I am in a conversation with someone, and I want to copy something that
 they wrote, either via ctrl-c, or right click -> copy, then it does not
 work.

 A further test shows that the copy buffer appears to be cleared. The test
 being selecting text from a browser and pasting it into an editor, then
 trying to copy from Pidgin conversation window and attempting to paste
 into the editor. When I do this the previous text is no longer pasted, but
 neither is the text I just copied.

 I disabled all non-standard plug-ins. The only ones which were active:
   - History 2.5.5
   - Release Notifications 2.5.5
   - Windows Pidgin Options 2.5.5

 Activating the logs I see:
   (14:10:28) Gdk: gdkproperty-win32.c:201: OpenClipboard failed: Opération
 réussie.

 I am using Windows XP SP3, in French.
