Comment:

 Happens every time. This was also affecting 2.5.4. When I installed 2.5.5
 I replaced GTK as offered by the installer.

 GTK+ Runtime: 2.14.7

 Restarting Pidgin makes no difference.

 I am using the Clearlooks theme. Changing to the MS-Windows theme makes no
 difference.
