 It would seem to indicate that another window may have a handle on the
 clipboard that has not been released.

 A little playing around showed allowed me to copy once, after having
 relaunched Pidgin, but nothing after that. I haven't been able to
 establish the exact sequence that will allow the copy to work, but I
 believe closing the buddy list is necessary.

 I am not familiar enough with the Windows API or GDK to spot what could be
 wrong in the code.
