 OS: Fedora
 Pidgin 2.5.4-1.fc9 (and newer)

 ICQ refuses to connect, with error message:

 The client version you are using is too old. Please upgrade at
 http://pidgin.im

 I have tried to use yum update but unfortunately,
 this site only supports Fedora up to version 7.
