 I will need a packet trace from this connection to figure out why it's not
 working.  This trace would normally include your password in plain text,
 so please edit that out before posting.

 You can use WireShark's "follow tcp stream" function to get what I need --
 set it to capture only packets to and from your bnc by port and host so
 that you don't have to dig through lots of unrelated traffic.
