 hi,

 the same problem on my side.
 It's weird, but I'm getting this error on particular network (at home
 only) on my both PCs - Win XP and Ubuntu 8.10 as well

 As currently I'm able to reproduce it on Win => attaching win log file.

 My pidgin version (on Win XP) is 2.5.5.

 please solve, as it's really annoying one, most of the time I'm not able
 to connect.
