 I run Pidgin on Debian SID, without plugins.
 With the current series (2.5.x) I mysteriously get 100% cpu usage after
 minimizing and opening pidgin a couple of times.

 The systems stays at 100% after this. The only way to get it back donw, is
 to shut down pidgin.

 Please see the attached bugreporting file for more (I followed your
 guidelines and took a gcc extract).
