Comment:

 Your output isn't useful for a couple of reasons:
  * Your debug symbols are from a different version (if you've installed
 pidgin from a 3rd party repository, you'll need to get the debug symbols
 from the same place).
  * You need to follow the instructions on the [wiki:GetABacktrace] page
 more carefully (specifically about telling it to ignore `SIGPIPE` and
 about running `bt full` and including that output)
