 Hello All,

I'm trying to get my external monitor to work in Ubuntu 8.10 and I had
to customize the x11 server. I made a backup file before edit the
 file(/etc/X11/xorg.conf).

Every time when I customize xorg.conf and reboot, the xorg.conf getting
reset with some default parameters, It's should be the same as before the
 restart, but is not.

    What I did:
I boot the kernal to init=/bin/bash ===> sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf
===> and replace with the correct stuff according my hardware and then
save and restart. After the restart It's freeze before log in prompt. When
I go back to bash and look the file xorg.cong is completly different from
 what I wrote befor.

So now I'm stuck before log-in prompt. Thank you so much in advance.
Have a good day and all best.

 Thanks
 Peter
