If I understand you correctly, you're requesting we poll for new messages
every minute? I'm not inclined to implement this because it's an anathema
to the design of XMPP and the ''push'' nature of Google's mail
notification pushes in particular.
Are you still experiencing shoddy/inconsistent notification support? If
so, please test by doing the following:
* opening the debug window, filter on 'google:mail:notify'
* disable and then enable the gmail account
* after a minute, send yourself an email.
* Wait about 2 minutes.
There should be some lines that match 'google:mail:notify' right as the
account logs in and then there should be some within a minute of your
receiving an email message in your inbox. Please attach this filtered
debug log.
