 just to inform you I have manage to configure Google using proxy following
 this excellent blog post:
 http://www.rakshitk.com/blog/2008/01/26/how-to-configure-pidgin-to-work-
 with-google-talk/

 So my problem is solved. Hope this helps someone out there.
