 When editing a temporary status in the buddy list that contains an
 emoticon, upon converting the graphical emoticon into its textual
 equivalent, it is duplicated and two textual emoticons result.  I.E. your
 status is currently :) being displayed as the actual graphic.  Place your
 cursor after the emoticon and hit backspace.  The resulting status becomes
 :):).
