Comment:

 Well... Bonjour does use XMPP under the hood.

 However I have another pure XMPP account registered (GTalk) that does not
 crash.

 It took some time for me to read various tickets around. There are a few
 notes throwing stones into extensions' yard. I have compiled a couple of
 extensions by hand, since they're not available as a package, namely the
 switch-spell (which I have disabled) and the hot-keys (which I use).
 There were references, that simply having these extensions will make the
 difference, even if they're not enabled. I will try today renaming the
 plugins directory and will see what happens.

 Please do not mark this bug as a DUPE (yet).
