 I received an IM from a spam bot today while I was away from my computer,
 and Pidgin fired off an auto-reply.  Since it was a spam bot, I would have
 preferred it to not have sent anything.  It would be useful to have Pidgin
 not send auto-reply messages to users that are not on my list.  If that is
 not desired default behavior, perhaps an option in Preferences ->
 Status/Idle?
