Comment:

 So, if I open my laptop to shut it down after having left it on suspend...
 or I use my netbook to read an email on the train, and pidgin connects,
 thus disconnecting my main machine... I would want some indication when I
 return to my main machine that it was no-longer connected.

 TBH, I posted this request in direct response to the comments made in a
 mainstream Windows user Podcast, where both the presenters (one of whom
 was Paul Thurrott of "Windows Vista Secrets") agreed that this was a
 reason not to use Pidgin.  I just felt that that was useful feedback.
