 Behind a NAT that isolates my small group of machines from the outside
 wild world, and to make things worse, the NAT is itself behind a corporate
 proxy.
 But what's disturbing is that
 1) it still works most of the time.
 2) the disconnect is initiated by Google
 3) the disconnect always happens as an "answer" to a Pidgin ping.
