 This occurs fairly consistently after about 20 - 30 minutes of use. It
 never seems to happen while I am actively chatting, but only when Pidgin
 has been sitting idly in the background.

 I am using Ubuntu 9.04 with Gnome.

 I have attached a backtrace.
