 Just drag everyone into a single group (the same way you'd move a buddy
 from one group to another, just put them all into one group).
 Alternatively, right-click on a buddy and select something from the Move
 To submenu.

 This only ''approximates'' "groupless", mind you. I happen to think it's
 good enough, but I've been disagreed with.
