 I am seeing the same behavior between me (pidgin 2.6.3) and a user on a
 mac (google chat in safari or firefox).  I think the problem is the codec
 choice, because chat did work once.  At the time, the mac was on an old
 version of google chat and the video codec was something other than h.264
 (I forget what).  That mac was upgraded, and now it's picking h.264.  The
 mac user never sees video, just my buddy icon.  I believe the mac client
 is terminating the connection because it doesn't see any video data.

 Based on all this, my guess is there's something wrong with the h.264
 stream that pidgin is sending out.
