 reports of out network detection code having issues but nothing we have
 been able to track down yet unfortunately.

 I don't believe that my network connection is otherwise impacted.  I am
 often remotely connected to my computer when this happens, and my remote
 connection does not drop when all my IM connections do.  This does not
 solely happen during a remote session, however.
