 I've set the "Show system tray icon" setting to "Always" and added Pidgin
 to the Startup folder.  When I boot the system, Pidgin's system tray icon
 isn't displayed but I expect that it would be.

 If I run Pidgin, it displays the Buddy List window but the system tray
 icon isn't displayed.

 If I run Pidgin and quit it, when I rerun Pidgin it does display the
 system tray icon.
