Comment:

 This ticket does not have a patch or code change.  It should not be a
 patch.

 That said, have you tried Pidgin 2.6.3?  If the problem still persists,
 try Pidgin 2.6.4 when it's released.  I recall something about this issue
 being at least partially fixed, but I don't recall which version it
 was/will be in.
