New description:

 I have used pidgin for many years without any issue.  After 2.6.3, I
 started having this crashing problem, and it persists in 2.6.4.

 I have this one AIM buddy, screenname "danzinny", who consistently crashes
 my Pidgin.  Basically, when Pidgin tries to create a message window for
 this one buddy, it crashes.  This happens whether the window is created
 due to me double-clicking him from the buddy list or from him IM-ing me
 out of the blue.

 I should point out, I do not use pidgin-encryption with this buddy.
