 First, I am using Pidgin exclusively for Yahoo IM, at this time. I was
 moving a buddy from one group to another by the click-and-drag method.

 As I was dragging across the line separating the two groups (both were
 expanded), the one being dragged seemed to interact with the first entry
 in the other group's list. It was eerily reminiscent of dragging a file
 into a folder: the buddy I was dragging seemed to 'enter' the other buddy
 as one might see when dragging and dropping a file into a folder.

 When that happened, without releasing the mouse button, the dragged buddy
 just disappeared and I have been unable to find them.

 Imagine my surprise when I found that they had also been eliminated from
 my YAHOO IM list when I actually ran the Yahoo IM program on a different
 computer (without Pidgin having run before or concurrently)! The person
 does not show up on other computers when I run Pidgin. Other than this,
 the program works normally with no other signs of errors.

 Unfortunately, this is also a personal situation where I cannot 'ask' for
 the person to renew their status on my Yahoo IM list.

 What Happened and (more importantly) can it be fixed (as defined by this
 person returning to my list without using the normal methods)?
