 I have a group named "Profile Friends" with one person in it. I want to
 remove the person and the group. I have tried deleting the group and I
 have also tried deleting just the person and then delete the group, but
 both ways give me the same results: the group and the person returns to my
 buddy list the next time I sign back online.

 Also, that group is not something I created. This person is someone I have
 talked to before (so it's not a random person).
