 I know this problem has been reported here: Ticket #10392 and closed as it
 is not a pidgin issue.

 But as the problem still exists, I have found a solution (it works for me
 and for some other people), please post it there.

 You need to upgrade gavl to version 1.1.1-2 (which I found in debian sid
 repository).

 I did not found a way to suggest it there:
 http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/10392 so I opened a new ticket. (please
 report this note there and destroy this).
