 When attempting to create a new Chat Room by joining a Chat, the room is
 not created.  Also when someone from an earlier version of pidgin invites
 me to a chat and I accept, they see me enter and leave the room
 immediately and the chat room never opens for me.,

 this is happening on yahoo and aim
