 Hi - I am not sure how this is supposed to work, so sorry if I'm out of
 line :)  I am worried about this being closed.  It is a problem we are
 suffering with as well, and it makes Pidgin completely unusable (will not
 launch).  If I can provide any additional information I am happy to do so.
 We have also tried updating and fresh install just as the original
 reporter did.
