New description:
Aliases stored on Google Talk are pulled down on a first load. However if
a user is renamed on Google Talk or in Gmail Contact, Pidgin will never
update the buddy list entry with the new Alias.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Add (invite) a GTalk buddy, (do not modify their contact info).
2. Ensure they appear in your buddy list and they are listed by their
email address.
3. Close Pidgin, and modify the entry on Google Talk or in Gmail
Contact.
4. Restart Pidgin, the server side alias (set for the first time) is not
loaded.
It seems that the server side aliases should be synched with the Pidgin's
local alias mechanisms, or a method to import/override the aliases into
Pidgin's alias system should be possible.
I tried using Get Info which does pull down the updated contact
information but after restarting Pidgin, the contact alias went back to
the original state.
