 Hmm, strange.  I am able to receive messages from ICQ 6.5 build 1042 using
 Pidgin.  Are you using the English version of ICQ 6.5 or a localized
 version?  Are you sending plain ascii text or something more exciting?
 Are you using any Pidgin plugins that may be inadvertently intercepting
 your IMs?  Are you able to receive ANY messages over ICQ in Pidgin?
