 Unless there is some best practice or interface "contract" that pidgin
 (GTK+ really) is violating by not resizing the icon it really is up to the
 Audio Mixer to make sure the icons it chooses to display fit the space
 they intend to give it. pidgin/GTK+ may very well not be following some
 guideline, but not being a Windows developer I couldn't even begin to say
 whether that's the case or not. Nor do I know what method the Audio Mixer
 is using to get the icon, whether we could allow it to get the correct
 icon easily, etc. More information from someone who actually knows a bit
 more about how this stuff works would be most useful.
