 Good question -- not sure whether this is one bug or two. I only get the
 sounds reset if I open the Preferences window (even if I just open it and
 leave it open), but if I change them, they stay changed even if I reload
 Pidgin. (Also XP SP3 x86)

 But yes, while it makes sense for there to be no user-definable smiley
 themes (as there's no smiley list and picker), the sound theme should
 switch to "Custom" or "Some selected theme (modified)" when you make a
 change, and have Save/Save As/Delete buttons, as the UI at the moment is
 self-inconsistent.

 Curious why Calanyo finds that the settings never stick at all.
