I am running Pidgin 2.6.1, freshly downloaded and installed, on Windows XP
Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3.

I am trying to set up two different configuration directories for Pidgin,
so I can keep personal and work IM systems separate. I keep running into
error messages opening up in a dos window when I run with different
configuration directories - but not all the time.

I believe I have boiled it down to having a "-" in the folder name:
Create a new "C:\test" directory. Run pidgin and use "C:\test\a" as the
config. This works. Try again and use "C:\test\pidgin-home". This
produces error messages, as seen below. Try again and use
 "C:\test\pidgin.home", and this works fine.

 C:\Program Files\Pidgin>mkdir c:\test

 C:\Program Files\Pidgin>pidgin --config "c:\test\a"

 C:\Program Files\Pidgin>pidgin --config "c:\test\pidgin-home"
