New description:

 In Pidgin 2.6.1 the dialog window that appears in response to
 Tools.Preferences come up sized with a width of 3000 pixels (and height of
 709 pixels). This is on a windows system with screen size 1920x1200. This
 width exceeds the screen width. This behavior did not happen in 2.5.x.
