 off the "Keep me signed in for 2 weeks" checkbox. This is a hassle because
 I have to type in my 12-character password every time.

 Seems to work fine for me (Pidgin 2.6.2). When I receive a new mail
 notification, and click "open mail", and when I have set my account to
 "Keep me signed in for 2 weeks", I go straight to my inbox.

 File a new ticket or ask me to reopen in case you observe the problem.
 Tonnes of changes that happened since this ticket was opened must have
 fixed this issue.
