 re-produce steps:
 1. start pidgin
 2. setup a MSN account if not exist
 3. quit
 4. restart pidgin and enter MSN password

 pidign crashed

 The root cause is "hostname" maybe uninitialized when it is freed.
 I attach a patch in this ticket
