#10052: (Previous) Status doesn't apply at log in (sign in)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Reporter: Veveve | Owner: sulabh.dev
Type: defect | Status: new
Milestone: | Component: Yahoo!/Yahoo! JAPAN
Version: 2.6.2 | Resolution:
Keywords: status change update network manual default ip detection yahoo AIM XMPP |
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Changes (by Veveve):
* version: 2.6.1 => 2.6.2
Comment:
''"Is it possible that inability to change status is because of some other
reason, other than your selections for STUN/TURN."''[[BR]]
[[BR]]
Most probably you are right.[[BR]]
[[BR]]
'''I didn't say''' that those options (the STUN and TURN servers) are to
blame. I said only that i'm using them and all the things should work fine
even if i'm behind a router. I could mention right now that I didn't
noticed any difference regarding the problem taken into discussion when i
used or i didn't used the STUN/TURN server.[[BR]]
----
I've done some further tests :| and the result was... curious. I hope you
could help me find out where's the problem. Please take into account that
pidgin 2.5.8 worked perfectly in this particular case (changing the
status)[[BR]]
'''The status changes are immediate''' and '''most of the time''' ''(1)''
the change is the one i'm looking for, '''for all''' my yahoo accounts,
'''But One'''.[[BR]]
[[BR]]
''Short description of my problem '''(Update)''''' [[BR]]
Given 3 Yahoo accounts, with slightly different settings ''(2)'', the
change of status doesn't occur for '''''Account ONE''''' within more than
20 seconds after signing in. [[BR]]
[[BR]]
After the 20 seconds, or more, i can change the status for '''''Account
ONE''''', but now i noticed that The change of status is somehow
unpredictable for ALL the accounts :|.[[BR]]
I don't understand the following behavior: changing the status
'''globally''' sets for every account an individual status (it should be
the same as the global status). But for some predefined status it doesn't
change correctly. I will further explain this with a small, attached,
video.[[BR]]
----
(1) Please watch the video to understand exactly what i want to say about
the unpredictable change of status
(2) '''Account ONE''' (b 4 y o u _ b b o g d a n) and the account m y b t
o r r e n t are set to use the Yahoo ASIA servers (when i check my email i
can see the YAHOO ASIA logo. Like in this picture >>
http://img171.imageshack.us/my.php?image=09072009140544.jpg [[BR]]
The account t e s t p i d g i n was created with the default yahoo.com
settings. I changed nothing about it. The status here occurs immediately
and it correct all the time.[[BR]]

I know this is not a proper way to present a problem, but please accept
it. I think it is more productive... I also attached a '''.log''' file
