Comment:

 Install wireshark (http://www.wireshark.org).

 Start the application as root/administrator. From Capture > Interfaces,
 click on "start" for the network adapter you are using for your Internet
 connectivity (through which Pidgin sends/receives packets). Wireshark will
 be showing a live capture of packets going through the network now. Keep
 wireshark running, and reproduce your bug in Pidgin (the "idle-idle"
 issue). Once done, stop the capture (capture > stop, or the stop button).
 Save the capture file (File > Save), make sure packet range is set to "all
 packets". Mail me this file at sulabh.dev. at gmail.com
