Comment:

 This crash isn't really caused by Pidgin - the backtrace shows it crashing
 somewhere deep within gstreamer.

 It isn't clear to me whether or not the gtkrc error is related or not, but
 that should be pretty easy to eliminate as a possible cause.  It appears
 that your `/usr/share/themes/Sonar/gtk-2.0/gtkrc` file is
 corrupted/invalid - choosing a different GTK+ theme will prevent it being
 accessed.
