 The patch in #8628 stopped the complete stripping of ID-less images and
 started replacing them with alt text links. As I understand it, the
 automatic loading of images over HTTP is a potential privacy/security
 issue, so this was a good move but not good enough. In some cases the user
 will be badly inconvenienced by having to click through to see each image
 in the browser.

 For example, the pubsub service at im.wordpress.com allows users to
 subscribe to blogs and receive new posts as chat messages with XHTML-IM. A
 user subscribing to an image blog such as icanhascheezburger.com expects
 to see images in the chat window but instead he will see alt links. The
 user would be better served by an option allowing the chat window to load
 images from trusted senders.

 There should be an account option to allow loading images from all
 senders, all in roster, all in a given roster group, all on a given
 server, or any particular sender.
