 I'm seeing this behavior as well, with 2.6.2 on 64-bit Windows 7
 Professional.  Connecting to MSN servers looks fine, but read errors
 prevent messages from being sent.  The problem seems to have arisen
 sometime between 16:35 UTC and the time this bug opened.

 Attached is a debug log of a failed attempt to send a message over MSN.
 (The names have been changed to protect the innocent.)
