 A previous feature that was included has disappeared in version 2.6.2 :
 The ability to read someones away message just by hovering your cursor
 over the screen name on the buddy list.

 It is a constant annoyance to have to right click the screen name and
 select "View Profile" just to read the away message. Instead of seeing the
 away message like in the previous versions of Pidgin, it just reads "Away"
