 This also occurs when pasting a link to a person's buddy notes, presumably
 because it automatically adds an < a /> in the background.  If I *type*
 the link in manually, I do not experience this problem (even though the
 next time I view the notes, it appears "linked").

 I think this linking should be disabled entirely, because there is no way
 to click on the link!  Alternately (I realize this is a separate issue),
 allow clicking on links in people's status messages (and buddy notes) when
 hovering over them.

 Also, it happens any time an "&" character is in the notes.  I thought the
 resolution to #2657 would have solved all these issues?
