 This was filed before (http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/4701 ) But I
 could not find a way to reopen that ticket.

 Yahoo's native client supports this now and this would be a well used
 feature.

 Once you enable the option, the status dropdown on Yahoo's client. has a
 new entry for "Available (to 1 contact)"
