 I think the behaviour should depend on whether "Show Offline Buddies" is
 selected or not. If it is not then "online mobile" buddies should be
 hidden just as if they were offline.

 I think you could make a good case that any other behaviour is incorrect,
 based on the fact that this is what Windows Live Messenger does. When I
 log in with Windows Live Messenger, with "Show offline contacts" turned
 off, "online mobiles" contacts are *not* shown.

 Pidgin should follow the principle of least surprise and do the same, as
 that is what MSN users would expect. It is inconsistent that when I then
 log in with Pidgin, the "online mobile" contacts *are* suddenly shown,
 even though I have "Show Offline Buddies" turned off.
