 Version 2.6.2 does crash. Version 2.6.1 does to. Seems to be related to
 GTK. Since this is the only part not changed by reinstalling the previous
 version.

 I proved by uninstalling GTK, then reinstalling the version included with
 2.6.1. Pidgin 2.6.1 does not crash any more since. I did not test any
 cross-ref-problems with other applications accessing GTK like GIMP. Maybe
 there are influences too! As far as I could see GIMP 2.6.7 does run and
 work as expected. Crossing fingers this is true!
