Comment:

 50% CPU usage on a dual-core machine running Windows is actually 100% of a
 single core when talking about applications like Pidgin that make minimal
 use of threading.  On a quad-core system, you'd see Pidgin using 25% of
 the CPU in these cases.

 In very active chat rooms, I could understand Pidgin using lots of CPU
 trying to render the messages in the history area.  Since that seems not
 to be the case for ''shock'', this sounds to me like a GTK+ bug of some
 sort.

 I'm going to assume that L3XY also uses some flavor of Windows and bump
 this the way of our Windows person.
