#11648: Pidigin 2.6.6 error signing in to AIM
---------------------------+------------------------------------------------
 Reporter: foxcole | Owner: rekkanoryo
     Type: defect | Status: new
Component: unclassified | Version: 2.6.6
 Keywords: AIM error TLS |
---------------------------+------------------------------------------------
The error is in signing in to AIM (text is copied and pasted directly from
 the error message):
 Received unexpected response from
 http://api.oscar.aol.com/aim/startOSCARSession: useTLS=1 is not allowed
 for non secure requests.

Saw a similar, but not same, error in search results. I didn't see this
problem in any previous version of Pidgin. However, I've upgraded to
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, in which process I wiped the hard drive and
started over. AIM is not installed. But I also feel it should not have to
be installed if I'm using Pidgin, so am wondering why this error now
occurs. I don't want to install AIM at all. I hope this can be fixed
 without doing so.
