Comment:

 This is something best taken up with the phurple developers--we didn't
 write phurple, nor can we support it.  You might try making sure Pidgin
 and/or Finch can use the Facebook plugin, or you could take the easy route
 and special-case Facebook in your application and in the background have
 it simply use the XMPP plugin as described in Facebook's site tour (linked
 from our FAQ).
